Carpenter Ants
Their name originates from how they collect wood for their nests. This creates cavities that damage and destroy various structures on your property. They can convey a painful bite with pronounced mandibles and injection of formic acid into the wound.
Carpenter ants are large (.25 to 1 in/0.63 to 2.5 cm) ants indigenous to many parts of the world. They prefer dead, damp wood in which to build nests. The most likely species to be infesting a house in the Canada is the black carpenter ant (Camponotus pennsylvanicus).

Bed Bugs
Bed Bugs (Cimicidae) are small parasitic insects. The term usually refers to species that prefer to feed on human blood. All insects in this family live by feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals. At the beginning of an infestation, bed bugs are likely to be found only in the tufts, seams, and folds of mattresses and bed covers. In areas of heavy infestation, bed bugs can be found in crevices in the bedsteads. Because bed bugs can live in bird nests, houses and buildings with several bird nests in the eaves and on the roof often will have bed bugs coming into the living areas.

Cockroaches
The best-known, most common, pest species are the American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) which is about 30 millimetres (1.2 in) long and the Oriental cockroach (Blattella germanica) about 15 millimetres (0.59 in) long.
Their habit of regurgitating partially digested food and often dropping feces while feeding are potentially dangerous features to spreading disease. Cockroaches have been found to carry bacteria, virus, fungi and protozoa that are hazardous to human health. Cockroaches have been reported to spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria, six kinds of parasitic worms, and at least seven other kinds of human pathogens. They can pick up germs on the spines of their legs and bodies as they crawl through decaying matter or sewage and then carry these into food or onto food surfaces.

Fleas
Fleas are insects 1/16 to 1/8-inch (1.5 to 3.3 mm) long, agile, usually dark colored, wingless insects with tube-like mouth-parts adapted to feeding on the blood of their hosts including humans. Their legs are long, the hind pair are well adapted for jumping: a flea can jump vertically up to 7 inches (18 cm) and horizontally up to 13 inches (33 cm). This is around 200 times their own body length, making the flea one of the best jumpers of all known animals.

Sow & Pill Bugs
This pest is the only crustacean that has become completely adapted to spending its entire life on land. It is a crustacean with a rigid, segmented, long exoskeleton and fourteen jointed limbs. There are over 3,000 known species. Sow bugs in the genus Armadillidium can roll up into an almost perfect sphere as a defensive mechanism, hence some of the common names such as pill bug or roly-poly. These bugs don’t transmit any diseases as researched to date but they are a nuisance.
